Thank you Chris

Thanks for posting the info for the event. This will be year #9 of the Frag Farmer's Market in Storrs and it has grown into the biggest swap in the northeast. I already have over 50 sellers signed up and have room for a few more, if anyone here is interested in standing on the other side of the tank this year. The prices are great, the selection is staggering, and it is a good time all around to just visit with reefers from all over the area. It is a great chance to turn your small scale frag rack into a few $ (which you then will spend at the guy next to you's tank...). In the interest of spreading the mayhem out a bit, I am going to add more rooms- so the crowds should be a bit better this year. I guess it is the price you pay for the HUGE selection of frags. The nice thing for you guys is that Storrs is tucked up in the NE corner of the state so it is not too bad a ride for you. I am putting together a preliminary list of sellers and should have it posted in a day or two for people to look at. Let me know if you have any questions or need more info!

Here is the "preliminary list" of sellers for the FFM so far. I labeled the hobbyists in the list, as the event has always been aimed at them. I apologize for any of the names/locations that are not completely correct - feel free to shoot me a PM to fix if needed. This list does not include any of the companies, clubs, or "I want to sell but have not paid in" people. If you think you should be on this list but are not - please let me know! I do still have room for a few more, if anyone wants in, but hustle - I have more people who have said they want to sell than I have spaces left...
Thanks-
Jon

Only one month to go and it is looking like this FFM will be bigger and better than last year. I am putting together the fragging demos done by a pretty impressive list of Jedi Fragging Masters, and should have that together in a few days. If you are on the fence about taking the trip down, just check out the list of sellers that will be there. I have not seen many of the "what I am bringing lists" yet but the few that I have seen are impressive to say the least!

Here is the updated seller list as of 2/5/16, including a few of your own hobbyists and shops!

Got that weekend off and can't wait to make this event for the first time.

Glad to hear you will be able to make it. With the school being out in the NE corner of CT, it shortens the ride for the BRS guys a bit. You won't be disappointed by the coral selection - it is scary how many corals there are for that day.

Will there be equipment fish and inverts for sale too?

There are always some dry goods from the various shops and Gary from Champion will be there with some stuff as well. Quite a few of the vendors bring along inverts too. A few of the places bring along clean up inverts and there are always a few other inverts that pop up as well.

I went two years ago and it was crazy! Tons of vendors, tons of people, def get there early! Was a ton of fun!
Gonna try to make this one

I just added:
Red Sea and Marco Rocks to the list for the FFM

I'm trying to make it this year. Very excited!

Nice, stop by and introduce yourself while you are there. I'm in the front of room 107, the one with the raffle.

Looking forward to this. made it a couple years ago and the turn out was excellent, the rooms were a bit scattered though...its a school so room after room and I was a bit confused with all the Blue Lights and whatever the fever of the year was then - i think it was folks after zoanthids at the time so it was about glowing tanks. personally i hunt for special acros and i nabbed a few that have been doing well since. some tanks were shoulder to shoulder and there were wads of cash in hand, i watched guys buy $250 zoa polyps (whatever floats your boat!) while i scored a $30 real version of the WTF Efflo that retailed at the time for ten times that. looking forward to attending again and will be there early. i hope RI and Boston area reefers make a showing. bravo to Storrs and CTARS for keeping good things going.
-Greg

Appreciate the good words, Greg. The event started out as a small swap that I hosted at the school and has grown into the biggest swap around. The biggest complaints that I get are that there are too many corals (okay, not really a problem but it is overwhelming at first) and that it gets crowded. The last two years, I have added rooms, but not added significant numbers of vendors. We are pretty much at the same number of vendors as last year (~60) but have added three new rooms this year (total of 13 rooms) and moved some of the action into the hallway, which also helps to spread things out a bit. The venue is not perfect but doing it in the science classrooms has its advantages for sure- like sinks! I have a list/map of who is where that will be available at the door when you come in, my suggestion would be to bring a pen, and make notes as you go through the rooms for who you need to go back to see again. Just go down one side of the hall and up the other and soak it all in!

Great! This time I'll grab a table map. Doors open 11am sharp or is there an early entry?
