FFM Frag Farmers market

That was AZnutty. He does not really sell anywhere other than at shows. Good news is that he comes to the FFM every year and brings crazy good stuff each year.

I may set up a small frag tank, looking at that one on the desk it looks nice do you know the make?

Jim

I bought that from Advanced Acrylics out of CA. They accidently sent me the wrong tank and told me to keep that one while they send me the correct tank. :).

Needless to say, it will probably end up in the auction ;).

FWIW, I ordered the AIO 16"x16x8" and they sent me a regular 16"x16"8".

How much would u sell the tank for if you were selling? I want to set up a small frag tank.

Yeah anthony, How much for all your donations to the club. We don't need no speakers this year

We will let you know. After the auction, that's were those frags from FFM will be going :)

I picked up 2 pairs of tank-raised H. erectus seahorses...or should I say my wife did. For sure was hard to compete with the blue light people!

Update on the orchid dottybacks. Both are doing well and eating SA pellets. They are hanging out together. They staked a claim to back right corner rock work of the 120 display and don't venture to far out. But both do swim out a few inches to feed.

Me and the lady had a great time! Was our first time, we made a weekend of it. Way more coral than I was expecting. Was nervous staying at a hotel for the night but I'm a lps guy so everything faired well over night in cooler with hand warmers. Picked up about 16 new pieces! All survived, doing well in my tank expect of course for the sps I bought I feel it won't make it.
Great deals to be had. Will try to post pics later.

Great show !!!!! But all the LED blues are bull. Come on guys all the blues are just lame. If you really love to pick out the important pieces it's difficult to distinguish them because of the overwhelming amount of blue lights shining and glaring off the waters surface. All the vendors same thing, blues blues blues. I get it,, make the coral pop, people with leds will go home with the coral they intended to buy but anybody with t5 or metal halide good luck getting zoathids. Of course if you know the patterns on the zoas you can make out what your looking at but in my opinion it's a pain in the butt and my eyes get irritated. Every body except a few were running primarily blues, with the exception of a few, not surprising from this site , Frank180, and Greg Hiller. They both had their whites on and I appreciate it, you can clearly see what they had in the tank. Most of the acros in the other vendors tanks mostly looked like green and blue and purple acros , hardly any other distinguishable colors other than red satosa and sunset milli literally I'm not kidding that's it, greens and blues. I know all the bright colors of the rainbow zoas looked amazing but place those babies under a t5 and see if you feel the same. I bet a lot of the vendors feel the same way when they get home to there personal tanks, they don't have their own tanks looking like the frag tanks there. Anyways, I wanted to vent my frustrations about the whole thing. Conclusion it probably won't change, why,, Because the pop sells but people who have real passion for this hobby don't appreciate it and don't want to see all the freaking blues,,, plain and simple it's wicked cliche. The challenge of finding the nice pieces at a great deal will continue drive me back to this amazing event next year, me and my buddies had a great time and it was the most coral packed venue I've ever seen. Well worth the travel thank you to all the vendors I hope you don't mind my opinion about the whole thing you people are all really great and pleasant and especially patient to be around and put a lot of coral on the line for us reefers to pick through so don't think I don't appreciate it because that's far from the truth!!!

white led flash light trust me its ur best friend up there i take it u got the coral beer goggle effect after getting home

Yup, I brought my flashlight from work to see the REAL color of the corals.

I spent some money. Bought a Hanna Calcium Checker, two zoas and three Vanderbilt Chromis. Spend $120. Really impressed with the Hanna Calcium Checker. Tested calcium 3x with Elos and 2x with Hanna. All results were with 20 ppm.
