Mine is from the 70's. You may have me beat.

Mine is a Kenmore I believe and has artificial wood like tape over the metal to help make if blend in with the funky paneling of the time.
Came from the factory that way.

Few questions, do they have a build in sensor to detect when the humidity get to a specific % in a room and kick on or do you run it all the time/ on a timer? Approx. what does the l/kw translate to wattage consumption wise for the 70l/50l ones?

Both of mine are programable in 5% increments for humidity and both have a contuinuous, 2hr, or 4hr on/off setting.

They have sensors and only run when the humidity is above the set point. The energy star ones will have built in timers as well. For example mine can be set to run all the time or run only on 2 hour intervals or on 4 hour intervals. During those intervals it will only turn on when the humidity is above the set point. FWIW, humidity in the basement should always be below 65%. I keep mine around 50-55 and its super dry.

i have to empty mine thats in my basement daily.... and i don't evin have a tank down there..... just about 20 ish gallons of ro/di. but its in a closed bucket.
