Fish Suggestions - 14 Gallon Biocube

Besides just losing our two fish (clown and gramma) to brooknella (confirmed at LFS with bodies). We'll be stocking our tank in another 6-8 weeks.

Since our tank will then be almost 6 months old - we're wondering if we can just get 2-3 fish at one time or a pair of fish - so they don't stress and get into the tank and determine turf at one time. One thing I think led to the demise of our current fish was the gramma being in the tank 2 months prior to adding the clown - and they simply stressed each other out.

I was thinking of perhaps a pair of clowns or a some other goby like things with a clown.

Any ideas? What are other nano reefers doing?

+1 on the pair of clowns....... I have a pair of true percs for my setup .... I love them very interesting to watch them.

we had a pair of true percs in our BC14. Still have the same pair, now in our 180

To my knowlege in that color pattern of clowns there true percs, and false percs ( which they are refering to oscellaris clown)
I never heard of that, my clowns are tank raised percs, I don't think that doesn't make them true percs ( but I could be wrong)

not to jack your thread but i have a 34g RSM can i stock 2 clowns in one day in that? it will be about 2months old when i get them.

That makes sense. Pair of clowns seems like a good idea.

Just to confirm the clown thing. Perculas have 9-11 spines, ocellaris have 8-10 (?) and are they are from different regions in the wild. You can easily get TR for both species. The stripe pattern doesn't have anything to do with it. You can find breeders and get babies for your setup very easily.

Well percs and ocellaris clowns can be both be found in the indo-pacific, I don't know about the number of spines though......

I wouldn't do 3 fish at once and IMO I'd be a little hesitant to do 2 clown at once but it should be ok especially if you get really small ones...

I have a yellow clown goby in my 14g Bio, great fish for the tank IMO
