Hi i am just starting my first tank. It is a 75 gallon salt water tank, it will be a no reef tank.
I was wondering if some one could give me basics instrctions to getting it satrted. The only think i have done so far is clean the tank. I need to know what tempature water to fill it with ect.. Any kind of help would be apretiaed thank you.

I moved this out to the main discussion area.

A 75 gal tank is a great start.
What do you want to keep?
I suggest you pick up Scott Michael's Marine Fishes pocket guide and plan out the fish you want before any buying.

Have you purchased a heater for the tank yet? I'd recommend a titanium heater over the glass bulb type heaters.

Welcome aboard!

You want your tem around 79 and your SG around 1.025
A good rule in this hobby is take it slow, nothing good happens fast.

Are you running a sump? Is the tank reef ready? You are at the perfect starting point and came to the right place. I wish I had found this site before I put water in my tank when I first started out in this hobby, it would have saved me alot of time and money :)

If you have not done so yet go pick up a couple of beginer books on saltwater tanks, I think I still have a saltwater for dummies book you can read

Thankyou every one who welcomed me aboard. I live in Yarmouth Massachusetts btw. I dont have a sump setup, where can i find a good one for a resonable price??

You can always use another tank under yours as a sump.
Check out Fishy Bussiness out your way, also another club sponsor.

Is your tank drilled or reef ready? If it is not RR I would suggest having it drilled and put in a custom overflow box. I will be in Hyanis after Thanksgiving and could help you out with the drilling and a few other things if you need.
