Freshwater dip to evict Mantis

Pretty sure I have a mantis. I made the soda bottle trap and I'm giving that a shot, but if that doesn't work I've read that you can dip your live rock in freshwater and they'll come out. How does this affect the bacteria on the live rock? Would it screw it up?

If you can get him out alive can I have him? Depending on the length of time the rock is in the FW will determine how much bacteria dies.
