i probably shud change it

wow that much

It should be reversed at what ever the tank lights are. You could have them come on 1 hour before the tank lights go off. They can come off at the same time the tank lights go on.

+1 to this...

thats what i wanted 2 do but i didnt know if this was 2 much light my sump light comes on at 200pm and goes of at 10pm so i will do that turn fug on at 930pm and let it shut down at 145pm next day

I don't think you could get too much light in a fuge, unless you put like a 250W MH in there. IMO the longer the lights are on the more nutrient exporting aka cheato growth occurs which is a good thing...

awsome thanks so i know what i need 2 do

Mine comes on at 5 pm and goes out at 6 am.
11 hrs

On at 6PM off at 6AM. Not using a metal halide or anything so not really an energy consumption thing. I think the chaeto likes as much as you give it...

I've got one of those 65 watt Flouresent spot light bulbs over a 20L.
I even have coralline covering the glass now.:rolleyes:I scrap it off as I like to look for critters in that tank occasionally.:)

I use a 6500K compact fluorescent flood (HomeDepot). I started out with a reverse photoperiod but my chaeto was withering. Went to a 24hr light cycle and the place is booming with life now.
