Also, are they saying you can use literal laundry detergent for cleaning filter socks?

I know plenty of people use bleach and their washing machines.

I use our washing machine, but no bleach or detergent. I run it once to get the leftover detergent out of the washer. Then turn socks inside out, and run again.

Get rid of the socks get some cups and just fill it with filter fiber and replace as necessary
no more washing socks

I turn mine inside out, put in washing machine with bleach and extra rinse, then put thru rinse& spin cycle, dry in the sunlight on the deck

I usually rinse with RODI before installing

Seems to be fine?
