Getting out or downsizing

Hey everyone, I have reached the point where I need to consider either getting out completely or ideally downsizing. One of my 3 lights over my 150 gallon sh** the bed and I don’t have the funds to buy a new one. And on top of that, having 2 toddlers and an infant leaves me with little to no time for maintenance. I’ve been watching my tank deteriorate for a few months now doing the bare minimum. Overall it’s been self sustaining since nothing has died on me but I can’t give it the time it needs.

That being said, I’m trying to make this as simple as possible.

I’m looking for a smaller tank, to transfer some rock, corals and some of my smaller fish to. I would be looking into like a cube style, maybe 60 gallons or so. Would entertain anything less than 4ft long so long as it’s a complete setup (without lights, I’ll use mine).

I will be looking to rehome a purple tang, a powder brown tang, and a hippo tank. All roughly around the 4 inch size. Ideally all to the same buyer

I will a decent amount of live rock that I will no longer need.

If anyone is interested in a 150 gal tank, stand, 60 gallon sump, and reef octopus protein skimmer I will be looking to part ways with that too. Additionally I have a jebao 4 stage dosing pump and powerheads.

I know the rules of the forum are to post prices, however I don’t know where to begin. And unless someone wants to purchase the whole setup (minus lights) then I can’t really sell much of anything until I get my hands on another tank to transfer livestock/rock.

I’m putting my feelers out to see what kind of interest I’ll get and if maybe anyone has a trade in mind for a setup.

In conclusion, if you or anyone you know might be interested in:

-the setup as a whole

-The complete setup with no livestock or lights

-all 3 tangs listed above

-a decent amount of live rock

-or any other combination/package deal your looking for

Please let me know

Additionally if you have a smaller complete setup your looking to part ways with or trade let me know.

Note: I do have a bunch of anemones and soft corals and a few LPS, that if you wanted to package we can work something out, however I’d like to keep most of that to transfer to smaller setup. But if I can help you help me then we’ll do what we gotta do. I’m not looking to get rich, I’m trying to solve a problem (while also trying to stay in the hobby) knowing my corals won’t sustain much longer with one of my lights completely out

I plan to clean it all up on Friday and tank some pictures, but for reference I’ll post a few older ones here. Note the pictures here are probably a year or more old.

Dang man. Sorry to hear that. Kids definitely take up a lot of time for sure! If I had an extra light to help you out with, I absolutely would.

Sorry to hear that, do you consider convert it into a fish only tank? In that case, lighting is not important.

From the photos, are you using Reefbreeders photon led? If one of them has issue, I may be able to repair it for you. If you want to get the light looked at, please let me know and drop it off. Or you can contact Reefbreeders to get a quote for repair.

They are reef breeders. It’s likely the control board which can be replaced. The part cost just less than 200. Which in the grand scheme of things isn’t bad, I just don’t have it right now. And it’s basically giving me the excuse to downsize. I just don’t have the time to maintain it the way it should be.
