GIANT Serpent Stars

I finally trapped my large serpent stars...they must be almost 18 inches from tip to tip! I removed them from my tank and placed them in my refugium a few days ago. Originally I had planned to keep them in the refugium only temporarily and then bring them to a local fish shop for trade in value. However, they are keeping the bottom and the front of the refugium clean. The bottom was filling up with detritus but lately it has been getting cleaner with the stars in there !

Now I am thinking of keeping them permanently in the refugium. Is there any downside or disadvantage in doing this? Will they have enough to eat in the fuge or will I have to throw in a morsel now and then?

IME they are OK in the fuge, but might benifit from the occasional morsel of something being thrown in to feed them. I've had a serpant in my ref for a yr or so, it doesn't seem to have hurt anything, but it's body has shrunk a little bit. Hard to say if it's having any impact on the pod population or anything.

Thanks Jimmy, I think I'll keep them in the fuge and see how it goes...
