?????...Glass Cutting

Picked up a free 29 gallon tank with stand and sump. I would like to use this as my zoa garden tank for the length.
Not a fan of the height so is it possible to remove the top brace and cut each panel down 6" to make it almost a frag style?

You could take the entire tank apart, cut the panes and rebuild it or you could wait for the next Petco $1/gal sale and buy a 20L tank for 20 bucks which is 29G tank with 6" cut off. I'd go the latter.

101% agree,
it's cheaper and less work just to grab a 20g long tank from petco or petsmart.
I was at petco last week and I saw the sale. not sure the sale is still on going now

Agreed.

What's your time worth? You'd be putting a bunch of hours, and at least $8 in silicone, plus any other expenses (clamps, glass cutter/scorer, sandpaper) into it to save yourself $20.

Current Petco sale ends on 08/08/2015 in case you need to know

Ron, I do glass work and I agree with the rest of the gang on this one. You would first have to cut the tank apart score and break each piece then sand down the edges, and put the whole thing back together. If you decide to give it a shot, let me know. I have a glass grinder and cutters.

The other option is a glass cutting diamond wet saw. That would cut it like butter but even then you would have to take the thing apart.

The good news is, tanks are thicker glass and will cut and break better.
