Good deal or not?

i have heard goos and bad by moving but if u decide not to bring it i will be intrested and what is not going. good luck

Can't speak for the Nano but you should check out the Finnex M Tank as well. This one came from CRA, I really like the open top, straight lines etc. In my opinion it's a sharper looking tank and around the same money.

Changing tank

If I did move some of my stuff to a new smaller tank, Would it be better to use new sand, or old sand from my current tank? I probably do not have time to let a new tank cycle much.

Also, should I use existing tank water or brand new water?

I would have a much over capacity skimmer on it for at least the beginning.

Thanks all

Im not sure, I think if you really mix up and disturb the sand, it kind of needs to recycle...maybe Im wrong.

Thanks.

How much easier do you think a 24 gallon nano would be than a 46? I'm guessing it would all depend on what you have in the 46 and what changes you plan when you go to the 24. If you were to go from corals to fowlr maybe, but I don't think just the smaller size would make much difference how easy it was to maintain.

Its more of a moving issue. A nano is all self contained. My current set up i have a f-ing sump, self plumbed, Im always scared of disaster and overflow, etc. A 24 nano will fit in my trunk, my 46 will not. It has nothing to do with what is in the tank really besides me being gone for a week now and then.

ditto what smithcreek said above. when i broke down my 75g i kept a 29g "because it would be less work". In the end it was about the same effort. In some ways smaller was worse because its less forgiving. I had no ATO, no sump, just a hang-on skimmer and some lights.

I would suggest trying to simplify the 46g as opposed to starting all over again.
