Gorilla Glue Toxic?

I'm planning on making a small frag rack or two to put in my 55 gal. I was contemplating using Plexiglas to make hangers to attach it to the side of the tank. My question is, can I use a gorilla glue or super glue to attach the plexi to the egg crate? Advice, criticism, or guidance is welcome!!

The majority of frags are locked onto plugs using super glue. I'd say its fine, but use something you buy at a LFS, not Home Depot.

I've heard of hobbyist using super glue to make frag racks, but not the gorilla glue. That stuff has some pretty intense fumes.

Ok so gorilla glue is out of the question then? I was only thinking of using it because of its strength. I also have a few tubes of coralife super gel kicking around. Maybe ill just use that. Thanks a bunch. Ill post picks of whatever monstrosity i create!!

Also some folks attach the egg crate to Mag-Floats.
That way you can raise or lower the frag rack easily.

cyanoacrylate is what you want to make sure its based of. lots of threads on glue in here call it out.

That's not necessarily true. I use Loctite super glue gel from Home Depot or Walgreens or wherever I can get a good price. Works fine.

You can also use superglue gel to glue frag racks. I never tried the Gorilla glue thou

I just made brackets out of egg crate and zip ties, works awesome.

+1 on zip ties, let's you reconfigure easily with some snips.

+1 on the cyanoacrylate that's what I use...

First attempt

Ok heres my first attempt at a frag rack. I didnt want it to take up too much room or block out much light from the rest of the tank.

I think I will try a two level one next.

looks nice, the plexi will probably add a cleaner look than if it was all eggcrate.
two thumbs up!

Thanks I thought so too, the plexi just about disappears underwater. If only they made clear eggcrate.

Looks great much better than mine (which isn't in the tank yet lol)

Def I made mine with all eggcrate and def doesn't look as good. I'm sure once it gets all covered up in coraline it'll look good when I get it in the tank...

If it is cured there isn't a problem, but it would never look as neat and expands like crazy. Used it to glue a bunch of dry Marco together and it worked great!!!
