green bubble algea

arda

sohal tang
Hi i recently bought a clam from a member and its been couple days and i just noticed that outside of the clam shell there is a green bubble algea. dose anyone know how to remove it ? or anything i can do cause i dont want this thing to take over the tank thanks for any info.

you can use tweezers and carefully pluck it off... just be careful try to go under it and push up. then rinse with fresh saltwater.
Or you can use a toothbrush and scrub the shell then rinse off with saltwater

best bet is to take it out of the tank, and pick the bubbles off outside of the water, then swish it around really good in some tank water in a seperate container before returning it to the tank. Those bubbles (valoina) will contain little baby bubbles/spores that can be released if the bubbles are popped in the tank. If you can keep them out all together you are much more likely to avoid them spreading around the tank.

Another trick is to use a syringe to suck the fluid out of the bubbles before removing them, but in your case IMO removing the clam and cleaning it off outside of the tank would be much safer and easier.

Thanks for the info bubble been removed and hopefully wont see it again in the future :)
