shipon it off. I had it on some of my rock in the past. Check water parameters, especially phosphate.

The usual....how long has your tank been up and running? Was the rock live or dead before you put it in the tank? What do you use for water(tap or RO/DI)? What are your water parameters? The answers may help you get a more defined answer. Good Luck :)

If your tank is relatively new I think it's pretty normal, just part of the cycles of algae you'll go through as things stabilize. I added a few pieces of dead rock to my tank after it had matured and the new pieces went through a cycle of that green stage again as well (not exactly sure why though...) as it became live. If your tank is mature then I have no idea and will wait for more experienced folk to chime in.

It is a 4 month old tank. The nitrate is under 2ppm. no ammonia or nitrites. Ph is about 7.5. alk is in the normal range and so far thats all i have tested.

Just be patient. It should go away. Your snails look like they are doing their job. I would only be worried if the CUC wasn't going after it. If you want to clear it up a bit faster, cut down on your feeding for a little while. Also, make sure that you never stir that sand bed, let the CUC take care of it.

Ok sounds good. i just wanted to make sure i didnt have a huge problem going on. i also only feed my fish twice a day, not sure if that to much. but also don't feed them alot each time.

Do you know what your phosphates are at?
