i am sure that enough poeple chime in a savings could be had.

i would guess that our best price is by the 50lb box
so if poeple want less the'll need to find another person to split it.

now, to debate on what KIND of rock?

Tampabay saltwater?
FIJI?
Tonga?

Sponsors?

I prefered Kaelini rock. For 50 lbs. box, I would take 4-5 boxes (price dependent) and share 1/2 box with rh3173.

I just got 80 lbs from gulfview. It looks really great to me, but I'm pretty new to this. Covered with purple coraline, corals clams, oysters, bright orange coraline, even a few good size christmastree worms. so much life, and it was dropshiped direct flight for $40.00 to the airport up the road. That means it was only out of the water for about 6 hours.

If anyone with a better eye wants to look at it, i'm in Windham.

Only problem I have is lots of anemones. There website says that they are not aiptasia, but who knows. They are mostly pretty big and I've been convincing them to move into pieces of removable pvc by pointing a powerhead at them. There also were two mantis shrimp, but they had crawled out of the rock in shipping and were easy to remove. I kept one in quarenteen because he was so neet. Irridecent blue green with orange feelers.

Dropshipping is undoubtably the way to go. I would be willing to help pick up rock as I am close to Manchester airport. I'll need some more rock when I move over to my 120.

I've seen some new brazillian rock. A friend got some at Aqua Inexterior?? and it looks pretty nice. Suppose to be lighter (like Kaelini??) so less lbs and more volume. My brother is looking for about 50lbs depending on price.

I'd be interested in half an order, that lighter rock would be nice. I'm guessing uncured rock?

I'm going to need ~100# of LR. I'd like Fiji, Kaliani, or Marshall Island. A mix of all with some Tonga thrown in would be wicked good.
Problem is, I won't be ready for a couple of months.

Depending on who you go with - if they have live sand - I would like some of that. I've gotten TambaBay rock twice and really liked it - lots of cool stuff on it - it is pretty heavy though.

Moe, I'm in the same boat. I'm shooting for the beginning of september to start my new tank up. I have to move before I can fill it (structural and strategical nightmare to setup only to mave in a month). If this materializes before we're ready, I see only 3 logical solutions. 1) Buy some tupperware totes and some powerheads 2) Maybe we can arrange another group buy in a few mos, if you and I both buy 100lbs, i'm sure we can get a better deal than if we buy seperate or 3) I'm seriously thinking about finding dry rock, whether it be something someone has dried out locally or shipped from a place like hirock.com

Im going to need 25 lbs
any one want to split a 50 box?
question would 25 lbs if put directly into a established tank of 50 gal cause a melt down?? or should i just cure it in a rubber maid trash barrel with a powerhead?

jeremy at CRA www.inverts.com has offered 3.99lb for Fiji Rock. the stuff looks amazing.
please post if interested in that price and well setup a payment/pickup time
i will see if he can post a pic or 2.

3.99 lb should be right out of his store.
i am not sure yet what the total min order will need to be to get the 3.99lb.

I'll take 10# from CRA if I can pick it up somewhere between Waltham & Woburn

Steve

The rock at CRA is great I bought 25lbs a few weeks ago to start my 20gal. Nice bright colors. Heres a small pic. With that price maybe I should start a bigger tank :D

I'm getting close to being ready. I'm probably good for 50# on this group buy. Depends on the timing.
