Hands Out

Pretty funny. I remember when I had my last system setup, if I went on vacation and kept my hands out, it always looked better when I got back. I’m noticing this now with my current system. I was literally putting my hands in the tank to rearrange things or whatever every single day. I thought I was “taking care” of it. I’m keeping my hands out of my current system as much as possible, and it’s far more “pristine” than my other system ever was. It’s also maturing at record speeds. Just a thought from my previous experience. As hard as it is, try to keep your hands out as much as possible. It definitely makes a difference. There are oils on our skin. You may have used hand lotion even an hour ago, etc…. If you smoke like previously did, there is also nicotine on your fingers whether you realize it or not.

This is definitely true. We all know how this hobby goes up and down. There are times throughout the year when I’m not interested in my tank at all, I just feed the fish and make sure things are alive. Then a month or two later I get back into it,I finally clean the glass and the tank looks better than ever!!

I now only put hands in the tank 1x a week. I used to address stuff as I saw stuff. I do my testing and things I see during the week to address on this day. Tank is looking great right now with this philosophy so I going to continue
