Hang on Back Protein Skimmers

Hey Everyone, new to the reefing game and I was told I would really benefit from a protein skimmer. My problem is that I don't have a sump to add one to so I guess im limited to the hang on back kind. What should I be looking for when im shopping around for one and does anyone have any recommendations? I have a 36 gal tank and just looking to keep a few fish alive and establish some easy corals like zoas and softies.

Thanks,
Jimmy

I run my 27g cube with a hang on back CPR fuge with built in skimmer. I'm approaching year 2 with it i believe, and it has worked great. I just fill the fuge with a little layer of rock rubble, and stuff 90% of it with chaeto, and pull out chunks every few weeks. My pod populations in it have always been large, and active as well. Something like that is an option.

I have the aquamaxx hob-1 and I really like it on my nuvo 40.I've been using it 24/7 for 6 months and no issues. I heard they have good support but haven't had any issues so I don't know from experience there.
Good Luck!

I used to use the Eshopps psk100 but recently upgraded to CPR 2R+ hob skimmer. Both work very well. I'm selling the PSK for $35 if you are interested

I decided to get the CPR aquafuge 2 with built in protein skimmer. im having a little trouble adjusting the air bubbles though. should the bubbles always be spilling over or should it just sit right below the top?

I have the 1st generation of it, and i put the skimmer cup maybe 1>2mm into the water, and adjust the air via the tubing valve. Not experienced with the 2nd gen in those regards.
