just a heads up folks. My skimmer has been acting funny lately ( i know its a seclown it's supposed to) anyhow. It wasn't working this morning. No air at all just water. I realized that I had purchased the skimmer around Christmas and hadn't thought much about it. I cleaned all the normal things and it still didn't do anything. so I figured I'd change the air tube... it works! maybe its just coincidence but... maybe not.

salt creep will build up and block the hose on the venturi on berlin style skimmers. Easiest way to prevent it is to take the hose and dip it in some water (salt,ro, whichever comes natural) and let it "suck" the water up and clean it out.

I usually heat up some RO water in the microwave and then run it through the tube
