Help getting my reef octopus 150int working

Ive tried it at every water depth from 9” to 6”. Seems to overflow the collection cup on the lowest setting regardless. Any tips to getting this thing tuned in?

Is it brand new? If so let it overflow for a day or so before trying to set it. Also if it uses a dc pump for the feed just slow down the pump

not brand new but new to me. Came with a non adjustable pump which looks to be the stock pump

Dont think so, its a fairly new tank but everything was transferred over from a smaller one.

Does that have a gate valve on the output?

Yes its turned to the highest output right now and its still overflowing the cup like crazy.

Same issue with mine, since day 1. Going to disassemble, clean and re-assemble. I’ll let you know if I find anything.

It seems to be overpowered.can you double check measurements to verify it's the 150int

looks like thats the same model pump and skimmer I have

I'd open pump and make sure nothing in the needle wheel.
And check that the air opening in the value is clean

You also mentioned it's new to you , can you verify previos owner or maybe yourself cleaned with vinegar?

I had the same problem with same pump and skimmer.
I just stopped using it because I had it on a brand new tank and assumed I didnt have enough organics in the water to pull out.
