Pump is clean and was definitely cleaned with vinegar prior to me getting it. Would i be worthwhile to change out the pump for something i can adjust.

I just setup one for a future tank and it seems off. But I have mine cleaning to install on a 80g setup up and already running

For now you can use a ziptie to restrict the airline.
That should lower it.
Maybe raise it in the sump 2"
I'd do that and let it run 10-14 days to break in.
Vinegar bath cleaned it up but you probably need to go through a break in

Only about 4” of water height, air line sip tied, everything turned to most restrictive. Still overflowing like crazy. Maybe the pump is really overpowered?

Seems like if i was to restrict the airline to about 20% it would be about perfect.

That seems really strange.
Try to get Carlos from coralvue tech support.hea been around forever at that place.
Aquatrance shows model 1000,1800,2000,3000
It does show the 150int uses a 2000.
But I've had a 2000 on an 8" body skimmer and it was a good match.
I currently have a 6" regal using a varios 2 and its incredible amount of air,perfect amount of water.
I believe it's the same skimmer you have just $260 different pump.
The varios is more flow as far as water and air.
So this doesn't seem to make sense
Can you post a picture of the needle wheel in your pump

You sure that's a 150 not a 110

Where is the water level at inside the skimmer chamber. I usually run mine to just below the height of the collection cup otherwise it fills and overflows rather quickly.

Mine is reef octopuss elite sss-200 though but have had similar results with different brands.
