Help with return plumbing

So I have plumbed everything but am now stuck on figuring out a way to fix my return jet in place.
Here you can see it just sitting on the edge
In this photo you can see the return pipe emerging from the sump. There will be braided nylon connecting this pipe to the return jet.

I don't think you will have to secure it, just cut the line so that it's tight so it won't come off

Is there anything to break the siphon when the power goes out? If not the sump might overflow.

If it were me, I'd skip that return jet thing and make a hard PVC return that I could then secure to the back of the stand.

No nothing to break syphon. If I hard plumb what should I use to break siphon? I only went with the braided nylon because I had read that having flexible PVC somewhere in the return line will reduce the vibration noise of the return pump making the overall plumbing quieter.

If the output is close enough to the surface then that's it, the water level drops and breaks the siphon naturally. Less than ideal, but common is to drill a hole just a little bit below the water line, this way as the water drops it hits the hole and breaks the siphon, problem is those holes can get plugged up when you are least expecting it.

I have my return going from the pump to flexible tubing, to a rigid PVC arm that is secured to the wall and goes up and over the top of the tank, then has some loc line on the actual output so I can manipulate how the flow is directed.

+1 on the hard plumb with locline output. You will be much happier doing it that way

If you decide you want to do the hard line, I have a ton of PVC parts you can pick through. I'll probably have most of what you will need. As John nicely explained, It's not as tricky as all the threads on the topic make it seem.
