high PH,alkalinity, and calcium!!

arda

sohal tang
Hi i bought calcium reactor on tuesday and i set it up the same day i have been testing the Ph and it shows 8.6 calcium around 580 and alkalinity is Hight dose anyone know how i can lower them i am trying to adjust the calcium reactor to bring the calcium around 450's but no luck so far also before i hooked up the calcium reactor my ph was 8.3 what could be wrong? thanks for any info.

Something is seriously not making sense if the Ca reactor seems to be driving the PH up? (or do you mean kalk reactor??)

Best way to lower Ca and alk is to do nothing, just shut down the reactor until the levels level out.

If by chance this is a kalk reactor (?), how is the actual dosing being delivered (dosing pump, gravity, aqualifter, other)? Sounds like the tank could have gotten too much kalk too fast. The good news is that if you don't see a snowstorm in the tank, then it was only a little too much too fast.

Something is really odd then.

There is no possible way that a Ca reactor would raise the PH, it will lower it if anything. (Calcium reactor defined as a thing that mixes Co2 into the water and circulates that water over calcerous media to dissolve said media).

i just checked the water from my RO/DI and test the water and PH was crazy high it was around 10.2 i think thats why they all preatty high but is that normal for the Ro/DI water to be that high?

Did you check the ph from your ro unit with a freshwater test kit or a saltwater test kit?
