Hippo Tang with white around his mouth

I have a 1/2 dollar size hippo and noticed that he as what I would describe as a bleached look around his mouth from one side to the other and only the lower portion. He appears to be acting/eating normally. Is this whiteish coloration a result of him growing?

Anyone have thougths on this. I am not able to get a picture.

Maybe vitamin C deficiency?

I dose every feeding with either selcon or vita chem.

My hippo tang is about 8" long and has a yellowish mouth. It is light yellow. He may just be growing.
