Toothless Reefing
SOOOOOOOOOO....i went to a fish store the other day (that shall remain nameless-but just so you know i shouldn't have gone there in the first place) and got about 30lbs of live rock. I re-aqua scaped my tank and put my new MH light on did a top off and the tank literally has a bioload of NOTHING because the tank is empty right now...this is the first stuff i've introduced to the tank besides RO water in like 2 months....i woke up and turned my light on this morning and was just clearing my eyes staring into the tank and "uhhh what is that moving" sure enough after staring long enough....there's a baby bristle worm in there and not the orangey one, theres this little shrimp looking thing that swims upside down and is literally like 4 cm long, and some other tiny little bug looking things that are basically white or clear looking...any idea what any of these might be?

if it were the good bristle worms than i would say yah. Aren't there two type of bristles...one being coral safe (orangey body) and the other being a coral carnivore (clear/white body)

I think bristles can be varied color. I have seen mine be 2 colors. Fireworms I believe are bad. Sounds like you have copepods too, which are good. Shrimps usually arent bad. I wouldn't worry

we'll just let it ride....

lets see what happens, i just don't want to get an infestation of bristle worms or any other pests before i put expensive stuff in there ya know what i mean...

how long does it take for my coraline algae to start on the rocks and what does it take?

alot a Bristle Worms are normally a pale in color... now Fireworms are a different story.. do they look like this?
