Hot weather = no more heater?

Do you guys still leave your heater plugged in now that the weather is warmer? Do we really need it for the summer? Just wondering.

I leave mine in the sump plugged in, it probably hasn't kicked on in 2 weeks though

I definitely leave mine plugged in because I have a big fan running on the basement sump, and on a mild day that can actually cool my tank below 80.

Aim for minimizing temp swings rather than minimizing temp.

I leave mine plugged in rather than trying to remember to do it in if we get a cool day or two. You could wind up with a huge temp swing if that happens. You not using any electricity by leaving it plugged in if it doesn't get "kicked on".........

I set mine at 80. and last night I slept with the AC on and the heater was on when i woke up in the morning and temp was 79.3

Tank dropped to 77.6 tonight. So on it went.
Try to keep it 79.

The 2 Fans were too much for it.
