how many people have calcium reactors and still have to drip kalk
to maintain ph???

if thats the way it has to be ,then im dumping my reactor and switching back to 2part ion!!!!

2-Part doesn't always maintain PH either. IMO you have more potential for issues with 2-Part than with a reactor. Have you adjusted your CO2 bubble count at all?

I have a calcium reactor which I never touch. The last time I filled my media is probably a year ago. I need to do that tomorow.
I dont dose anything in the tank. I only dose the new mixed-water during a waterchange.
Whats your PH? how low is it?
Mine is 7.9-8.2 Thats on the low side but I dont have a problem with it.

main reason is I dont have stuff that consume enough calcium so I dont have the reactor cranked.

Same here, and I don't think 7.9-8.2 is to low for PH

i just recently set up a reactor and i continue to drip kalk as i did before and my ph is 8.0-8.3. im going to continue to drip. my tank is small at 58 gallons so it will be easy for me overdose co2 and drop my ph.

I have both but I don't know that I need both. Kalk drip helps to blow off phosphate, Ca reactor helps in general with Ca/Alk levels. If everything is in balance PH shouldn't be much of an issue either way.

What do you already have and what are you looking for? If I had to choose one or the other I would go with a Ca reactor but both have their benifits.

I wish I could afford a reactor....I hate two part...I drip kalk tho....not a big fan of it...Maybe I'll get lucky and someone will sell a calcium reactor cheap....I can only hope....

Check the old eqipment FS posts, either rich connely or agent was selling the Kalk reactor I helped them build (we made one for each, I just forget who was looking to sell). I don't know if anyone bought it but it might still be FS.

I have a 125gal tank with a dual chamber reactor I dont add anything else except iodine I have never had any problems with it even when running a tank loaded with sps I clean out the media and replace the used amount every six months to keep it running the best. I have seen a lot of people have problems with single chamber models not keeping up and dropping ph due to the excess co2 which can be fixed with dripping effluent into refugium macro sucks up co2
and ph stays stable.

I third that, I couldnt keep cal and alk in my 29gal stable with 2 part additives. Now the cal reactor is running I test my water maybe once a week.

I dont have a Cal reactor but I have a Kalk reactor hooked up to my ATO. I dont dose anything else.
