how much flow in a 55 gal

I used 2 koralia 3 on my 55 plus the return from the sump. I put 1 powerhead at each end offset of each other and the return was in the middle blowing against the front glass and it seemed to work really well.

I've got a 55 and I have a Hydor Nano and a Hydor Koralia 2. I also have powerheads in there from a mechanical filter, UV sterilizer and protien skimmer. Seems to work fine. I recently lost the impellar shaft for the Koralia 2 and have just been running the nano. I haven't had any problems, but its not ideal/long term. Hoping to ditch the mech filter soon for a sump/fuge.

I use 1 Koralia 3 and a Koralia 1 with the return from my sump for my 90 and it works very well.

imo, depends what you are gonna keep... fish only, as much as you want, and dont cheat the fish like most do with fish only, the more flow, the better... softies and lps, a fair amount is fine, but you never want dead spots in any tank imo... and sps, well as much as you can get, but not direct as in right on a colony or frag... however sps, need it to be changing and whatnot (ie wavemaker, vortech, etc)... something controllable that alternates flow..

I have roughly 1,100 gph in my 55 gallon tank. I have one koralia that puts out 850 gph and an overflow box and return fro my sump which is like 300 gph and everything in the tank is very happy. I used to have two 850 gph koralias that cost me $80 each and when they both ran at the same time they kicked up so much stuff in the water and it was too much flow i think. And I dont care for the koralias on a wavemaker because everytime they turn off stuff settles in them and when they turn back on they dont turn oon smoothly and they kick lots of stuff up in the water
