how much weight can you put in a 150 gal. (rocks)

im curios as to how much weight in rocks you can put in a 150 gal tank.the dementions are 6f/28h/18d if that matters.thank you .its also half inch thick glass.

well, i'm not sure what you're asking. if you have a 150 then you'll have about 100 lbs of sand and the same or a bit more for live rock, just as a rule of thumb, not law. that combined with water will put your weight up to about 1100 lbs, give or take. i would be more worried about the stand and the floor before i would worry about the actual tank.
 
Well if it were granite rocks, I'm sure you "could" fit about 3000#'s of rock. But I wouldn't recommend it.
FWIW, I have about 200# of sand and about 300# of rock in my 150.
 
Dittos on worrying about the stand and the floor more than the tank. Make sure the floor support beams go across the tank not parrarel. So the weight of a six foot tank would be supported by five 2" x 10" beams(16 in. on center) instead of two. If tank is put in area where floor support beams are going parrarel I'd suggest two lolly columns in the basement for support. If you live in an apartment or garden style condo I suggest maybe a 75 or a 90 gallon tank.
