how to get clowns to host anenome

Anyone have any idea on how to get clowns into an anenome? I have read tons of ideas but I'd like to hear if anyone has had success getting ocellaris clowns to host into a small GBTA. My friend had a RBTA and her clowns kept trying to host in her featherduster, ignoring the RBTA!!

some people have taped pictures of clowns hosting on th etank for them to see. i dont know if it works but thats one idea. good luck

give them time when i got my bta it took 3 months for my percs to host the bta, give them time and they will build up the convidence and live in it

It took my ocellaris almost 10 months until it finally went into the bta.

It's totally luck. the best thing you can do is be patient.

My Percs ingnored the GBTA for almost a year. Then one day there it was and they haven't left it since.

Patience is the best method. They have to find it on their own.

I got a mesh container about 4x the size of the anemone and placed the clown and anemone together in it. The clown had plenty of room to swim and not touch the anemone, but the anemone was the only wavy thing in that area for the clown to sleep in and hide under. She tried it out and decided she liked it.

Remember that ocellaris are not in the wild in the same places that BTAs are, so they do not have much more of a natural attraction to them than to many corals.

hhmm...I'm not sure what to do, patience seems okay, I just feel bad because when all the fish are sleeping the clowns are sleeping in the front in the sand, dont' they want a home? I may try Cindy's method but if my GBTA ever lets go of the rock he's on. Thanks for the advice, everyone.

There is absolutely no harm in being patient. Since there are no predators in your tank like in the wild, both the clown and anemone are safe and happy without each other. I'm just a little impatient and like to experiment

MY clown lounges on one of my mushrooms..I have seen him lying on his side just relaxing. He was spending time in flowerpot coral but I guess the mushroom is more comfy.
