How to stock my tank wierd dimensions compared to volume

So I'm still in the process of setting it up but I'm just wondering how to go about stocking this thing. It's volume is around 130 gallons. The actual dimensions are 18x18x96. So it's 8' long. Would you treat it like a 120? I hear people say that some fish should be on a bigger tank but a 120 is 4ft right so does that not apply to me?

Only fish I really like or want to keep are Tangs and Clowns. What would be a good combination of fish I could keep in my tank?

Tangs will love the 8 foot length.

I wouldn't put an adult vlamingii tang in that tank. At 18 inches I'd barely be able to turn around

It is going to be about how much rock you shoehorn in there and what kinds of tangs you get. I'd think you'd be OK with 2 to 4 of the smaller variety

Where did you find such a cool tank? It will be nice to see a photo of it.

It's acrylic has 3 holes drilled down the middle and the overflow down that back end. 2 holes drilled in there. I got the tank from somebody I work with for free. Pretty happy about it.

Pic of the top. I've never owned an acrylic tank but it's got solid looking bracing up there and it feels like it's as light as my 55 pretty cool. It's all 3/8 acrylic

Couple pics of my 55. I went on vacation and I had this sick fish that I was trying to nurse back to life. Well when I came back he was dead along with all my other fish. Super unfortunate my kids still talk about it. That was last summer totally my fault I didn't have a quarantine. Kicked my self in the a** ever since. Well I haven't bought any new fish because I new I was going to set this tank up. So I'm going to transfer that rock into the new tank.

Also I'm setting up a 30 that's going to be used as my sump. That's going to sit next to a 55 that's going to be used as my fuge. Plan is I can valve off the 55 and have t's so the water divert to the 30 and I can run the 55 independent of the DT. That way I can use it as a quarantine when I get new fish or a sick acting fish.

Wassup Dan. That's a pretty sweet new tank you have man. Can't wait to see it up and running.
