I read this(One dip in 3% hydrogen peroxide will kill the gha from the zoa plugs. 4 parts tank water to 1 part hydrogen peroxide for 30-60 seconds. Place water and hydrogen peroxide in a shallow container with plugs on egg crate. Only fill to this line don’t cover the tips of the polyps. If you have a very fine paint brush you can ‘paint’ the diluted solution on the algae as well then rinse off ). Is this a good strategie and do you suggest anything else. Thanks

Honestly, I usually pluck what I can with tweezers and use a pipette to drip straight peroxide on the algae and avoid the zoas. Or if its just stuck to the plug I dip a toothbrush in peroxide and scrub the plug (not the zoas). I have hears of people doing peroxide dips, but I noticed all my zoas close if I dose a few ml into my display. They definitely don't like it.

Thanks I’ll try that

I would be careful, usually when you try to remove it loose strands always seem to get loose and could regrow from wherever they land.

For small frags use a small cup (3-5oz) 50/50 tank water/H2O2 have another container with just tank water handy. Place frag in 50/50 mix for a minute, remove rinse in the pure tank water container for a minute or so then put it back in the display.

Most zoas won't reopen for a day or two after that, but I've never lost any with that method. I even became distracted and left them in the mix for about five minutes once. Still no problem.
