I need some help planning my next reef build.

Oo noo ..are you still gonna have a wife after you build another tank lol..
Jk...Let me know if I can help with anything buddy

So are you going to get the 75g that is pre-drilled with overflow or are you going to drill it yourself for glass-hole box like you did with your previous glasscages 40g
The glass-hole box is nice but awful loud.

Anyways, the 75g is great size tank. You have the length for some tangs and you have some dept.

Going with a Red Sea Reefer 350 (73g). It already comes pre-drilled with overflow and all. Special silent overflow piping.

Yes, Glass holes are extremely loud. Not a fan. And 75 gallons is not big enough for any tang, nevermind multiple. With the exception of a kole tang, which I may consider.

Generally, the tank will be all nano fish. Majority of which will be peaceful. I like a calm, peaceful tank. Not chaotic agression tanks.

Only one way to find out! Lol. She's surprisingly supportive of the plan. Still hesitant, sure, but I didn't get a firm "NO!" so i'm surprised. She just wants me to be happy. Can't complain there. Plus I think she deep down is happy with the thought of removing two tanks and turning them into one. Part of which means removing a tank from our second bedroom that she isn't crazy about the location of.

But I will certainly keep you in mind if I need help with any of it!

Don't get too excited. Lol. Neither you nor I will see the likes of this setup at my place until next spring/summer. :-( Haha.

I like the dimensions of the DSA Neo tanks. I have a normal DSA 90 pro (36x24x24) which I love, but find it's too deep to easily manage. The DSA Neo 105 is a nicer size at 48x24x21. The neo series are rimless.

If I had space for a 4' wide tank, I would buy the DSA Neo 105 now instead of the 90 Pro I got. Perhaps when we move back from CA.

Another mention of DSA huh? I'm not sure i'm familiar with them. Is that something a few LFS get ahold of or does it come from online?

UA have had a DSA105 in stock for a while now. Not sure if it ever sold.

Personally, I don't know if I would go for a DSA just because I don't like the large center overflow.

Agreed. That center overflow is hideous. The RSR has a very sleek one.

I have the Deep Blue Pro 80 reef ready. It is great dimensions. 4 by 2 by 16 or 18 in. I had to mod the overflow to make it silent. The silicon is black but there is a plastic rim on the bottom. The glass is fine but would have gotten the high clarity If I did it again. I was on a budget but ended up going over that four times stocking it and on equipment. I recommend saving up for a really nice, high quality tank if this is going to be long term. I feel like I always underspend on the tank compared to what I end up filling it with.

That is super nice though! We have one at my old shop I really enjoyed. I'm looking to something non-shallow now though and as you mentioned, a "rest of my life" tank. It's very tough planning it as a 48" light fixture is expensive enough to make me puke. Lol. It's almost as much as the tank, stand, and sump! I've decided to buy everything for the tank before the tank itself. So that means buy the sand, rock, light, etc all before the actual setup that way I can plug and play within a day to begin the journey of cycling it. Plus that will hopefully leave opportunity to cycle the live rock in a bin for a few months minimum before the tank even arrives which would allow me to greatly reduce cycle times in the tank.

Go with an Elos 120 and you'll never look back. :)
Believe me, if I had the money for that, I could absolutely never agree more. Lol. They're incredible.
