I would like to introduce my next setup

Beautiful! Is that the tank that was at Lovely Pets?

Nope, it was in Unique Aquaria

Yeah I saw it 2... My cousin was like... HEY!!! I want that for my beta!!! :P I was like HAHAHA... NO WAY HOSAY!!! Funny stuff... It was a nice store, to bad it has to go... Sick setup both of you... How many tangs can you get in there, it is only a 34 gallon...

IMO no tangs should be in a 34 gallon IMO

It was a joke in reference to my tang blow up thread about 3 weeks ago :p

nice tank kevin,

those are sweet in person. you gonna get in on that rhyzo group buy ? :)

Not yet this it going to need a cycle first and don't want to commit to that. Plus, I think those rhyzo's are a bit out of my price range ::

Wow - I saw that at Unique as well - amazing tank. I wish I would have gone that route.

Tangs

I have a hippo tang in my 34G Solana and it is fine. It lives the height and width of the tank. It is a small tang and I plan on getting rid of it when it gets too big but it is fine now. It is very well taken care of and loves playing with the clowns. Like I said, tangs are fine in the tank, but they will get way too big in the long haul.

Please, just drop this before it gets out of hand.

I agree :p

Nice, Kevin. I was wondering how long you could stay with the 8 gallon nano... ;)

Thanks Linda, yea it's just a time & money thing. I really wanted to do another large scale system but this will have to do for now.

I did get a lot doe today, AC is all plugged in and all the cords are all nicely hidden away for a nice clean look. It is all full and the temp is climbing and currently is at about 73 degrees.

Now the worst part......waiting for the cycle, hopefully with 2-3 weeks I will be able to add some things.

Good luck with it Kevin. I saw it too at Unique. It really is a sweet tank. Have you seen the Deep Water Rock back wall for it?

Nice new Tank! I just bought a Solana a week ago when I upgraded from my 29G with all sorts of apparatae hanging on it.. =) Here's mine. It's almost fully clear (im picky) but it is definitely a nice rimless cube.

Hey Sam, did you have an issue with the skimmer throwing tons of micro bubbles into the display? I was told over in the Solana owners thread over at RC that this is perfectly normal for a coouple of week untill a slime builds up.

No Kevin, I was having microbubbles with my remora aqua-c pro. Then again, it subsided when slime built up..

Well it's 3 weeks and 2 days since I added the sand, rock and water and the diatoms are just about in full bloom and the tank looks like complete crap :( Saturday I added 7 Astrea snails and they are doing a nice job. Nitrates are through the roof so things are coming to the end :)

I hate this stage of the game

But it's one sweet looking tank!!! And you're almost there!! Good Luck Kevin-I am jealous:)

Luckily you know what to expect and that this stage will pass. I hate the first few months of a tank, waiting for it to stabilize. You have a vision of a perfect tank then you look at a mess and wanna give up.

Yea, I was running the lights in the evening but I don't even do that anymore, it's really depressing looking into a tank of brown ugly sand & rock.

I beginning to get a little excited though, I have a pretty good vision of what it's going to look like once I get going stocking it but that's gonna take a while.

Update? Pics? Need more Solana aquascaping ideas.
