Can anyone tell me what type of skimmer this is it stands at or around 4' tall. It had a pump on it that was rusting away and after I cleaned the skimmer up it looked almost new again(it looked like crap before).

whats the top of the collection cup look like? i am guessing it's an HSA made by MTC (marine technical concepts)

it looks like that it might have somthing missing maybe a cover because it has a rubber gasket on top with one plastic screw in it.

im curious where did you get it? my friend used to have one just like in the back of his store before he sold it. and i heard the new owners got rid of it. and nice choice in dogs we have 3 gsd's.

Scott is close. It's an MTC Power Pro skimmer.

I don't recall what size pump is recommended.
If I had to guess, I'd say a mid-size pressure-rated pump, like a Gen-X or Little Giant 4.

Give MTC a call and ask them.

Nice call Mike. Gen X or LG 4 is exactly what MTC recommends. This is an older generation model replaced by the HSA model today. MTC makes really robust stuff, this is probably a very good skimmer, although those pumps are going to eat about 130 watts/hr.

Believe it or not PETCO in Woburn when they moved from the old building to the new one what ever was left in the store was being tossed in the trash so i did a walk through in the back of the store and one of the Petco guys helped me take it apart.I also got two big pumps but I don't now if they work the petco guys said they do.

Oh I called MTC and e-mail them the pics they said they will get back to me.Thanks also to reefdom.
