ID please white dots pinhead size

these look like starfish on the glass but there's so many and there "body" is pin head size some have 2 "legs" some have 10. and ideas? good or bad? theise cover the class. when i mag flot them off the wake up in the morning there right back

Asternia star? They should be safe, maybe just eat some coraline.

Sounds like normal asterinas to me as well, sign of a healthy system IMHO! Some just may not the "look" of the stars covering the glass.

The # of legs each star has is probably relevant to the maturity of the star, IIRC.

I had TONS of hydroids, and a glass cleaning would only remove them for an hour or so.

Now I have only a few and they are in decline at a rapid pace.

From what I've read on hydroids is that they are not harmful and will go away on their own. I can vouch for the "going away on their own."

I've had these too during the first few months of my tank. I still find a few attached to my glass every once in a while, but not in the numbers that they were in. I have a small tank, and didn't have a skimmer at the time. I threw a skimmer on and did a few good water changes, and haven't seen too many since.

However, after looking at the link that Liam posted, I am wondering if these are some sort of jellyfish, and not a Hydroid. (Look at the jellyfish pictures on Liam's link).
