Ideas before these fish die?

Hi, I've got a serious problem. I picked up a wrasse and a Naso tang and they both aren't acclimating well. I haven't seen either fish eat, though I've tried multiple foods and adding garlic and Entice. I've also tried both lettuce and dried sea weed without success. The wrasse is out of the rockwork a good % of the time, but just lets the food bounce right off of her. The Naso, I'm afraid, doesn't come out much and when he does, will go scurrying back as soon as I get up from my desk to try and feed him.

I hate to say it, I'm pretty much resigned to scooping these guys out in a couple of days when they are both dead. Hope someone has a brilliant idea that saves these fish!

What's the temperature of the water, the pH of the water, the ammonia, the nitrites, and are there any other fish in the tank? How long has the tank been running?
Edit: Oh yeah, what kind of wrasse?

Temp is 79
NH4= 0
Nitrite=0
Nitrate=40ppm
The tank has been running for about 9 months now and yes there are a few other fish. A small yellow tang, a small hippo tang, a gold striped maroon clown, and a blue damsel.

The yellow will occasionally give the much larger Naso a hard time, but 99% of the time they leave each other alone. I've thought about putting a mirror up to try and distract the yellow tang and if everyone is still alive tomorrow, I'll go over to Wal-mart.

I lied about the wrasse; as soon as I hit send I realized I meant to say anthia. It could be a bi-color anthia. I have a hard time trying to decipher what is what at Tropic isle.

Nitrates are high, consider a 30% water change with another 30% in 3-4 days. What size tank is it. Tanks will slightly cycle if you add a new fish, but not that much

with nitrate at 40 I would want to know what amonia is and also phosphates.

oh AND WHAT IS THE SIZE OF THE TANNK.

How big a tank is this?

How long has it been?? Sometimes it takes awhile before the fish start eating. If it has been over a week....try getting some live brine to entice it for a day.

I hate to sound like the tang police, (or any other kind of cop for that matter) but what size tank do you have these guys in?

Try removing the 2 fish (if possible) and put them into a smaller tank (if possible). I use a system where I draw a small continuous syphon off the main tank to maintain water quality. Then try feeding them live food, brine shrimp, for instance. Tehy should take to the live food if they are somewhat healthy. If that gets them eating, do the next feeding with live brine and frozen mysis. If that works, mix in a little flake, ow whatever you usually feed your fish. Get them fat and then add them to the tank. Did you notice what (if any) they were eating in the store?
