Innovative Marine 170 EXT build

Hello, I am getting back into the hobby and just ordered a IM 170 EXT tank and stand. I’m very excited to start this build and have to wait up to 6 months for the tank to be delivered so I want to use that time to buy equipment and plan everything out.

I opted to not get the sump/plumbing with the tank because I would like to run a roller mat and their sumps don’t support one. I am looking at a Luna Reef ECCO 4418. Has anyone used one of these or any Luna sump? Are they worth the money? I was also hoping for some help with plumbing, I’ve only ever had Red Sea tanks and the pluming is all pre cut and easy to attach. I’ve never done it 100% from scratch.

Any other advise I’ll gladly take. I’m looking to buy once and cry once on equipment.

Excited to follow this build, I love IM tanks and hopping to get one in the near future. I appolige I dont have experience with bigger tanks and equiptment so im of no use

No experience with those roller mats but congrats on the tank. my wife had the 100int and it was a gorgeous tank and well built. Plumbing isn't to bad... dry fit everything then glue

I have this tank. I used a trigger sump and put my redsea roller mat in there with the skimmer and UV and returns. works great. Im sure you could get more fancy and expensive sumps but this works great for me.

Well I ended up going with a different sump than the two I posted here. I ended up with the Bashsea 48” pro. Seemed like a great sump for the price and a little bigger than the other two!

The tank is going to be here in the next week or so! Ended up being less than a month since I ordered it!
