I need your personal experence please. Not quote from google search. Thanks a million.:D

I had one for about a year and it was fine, but the person I sold it to said it started nipping some corals (acros IIRC) after he had it for about 6 months.

Dong

I have had my Foxface Rabbitfish, also known as the Foxface Lo for 4-5 months now and no problem here. I was actually surprised to see it pecking away at the brief cyano that I had. Also helped pick at the algae I had. I would say It is safe.:D

i had one it did great in my reef till it decided it wanted to take up carpet surfing:(

I've had one for 1.5 now. It was a model citizen for 6 months and then begin nipping at my corals. It ate all the xenia in the tank, and recently has started nipping at my toadstool.

We have been doing a better job of keeping strips Nori and other algae in the tank at all times. Since we started this the foxface has stayed away from the corals and eats the algae instead. So if well fed, my is sort of reef safe.

Considered a borderline reef safe fish. No problems with mine yet. Except he won't eat bryopsis:)

I had one for a long time before he eventually outgrew the tank. I do plan on getting another, they are great reef fish :)

Dong ... I have had a very small foxface in my tank for about 2 months, no problems.

thanks for all the answers.

I am going to transfer the foxface from QT to main tank this afternoon.

my foxface was fine in a 92 mixed reef. Really liked the nori. I fed it alot. Pretty cool fish. You do know that are venomous right? Just be careful if you ever pull on off of a powerhead! :) Don't ask me how I know!

Thanks Casey. Yes, I am aware it has bad bad fins.

I always use a plastic scoop to handle it.

there's a thread here that's old as dirt but generally speaking according to them, the fins aren't all that horrible, they're only mildly poisonous. also fret not for your coral cause they don't eat coral, but algae, valonia and most anything else are at their mercy...

Dong, how has your rabbit been over the course of almost 1 year?

I have had mine since I started this hobby, about 3 years ago. Keep it well fed and you should have no problem.

I have had several rabbits- one spot foxfaces- both for years with never any issues. Mine were fat pigs that had very round bellies, so well fed might be key. They loved nori and macros. I have also had a orange spot rabbit and a blue lined. Both were great in the reef. The blue lined was in a sps frag tank only and never picked.

Good luck with the fox face. They have such personalities.

Most of them are, I had heard that they all are reef safe. So after dealing with an algae problem for a while I decided to get 1. The LFS only had 1 rabit fish in stock it was a puellus rabitfish. Not as pretty as some of the others but still nice.

Long story.... This 1 is def not reef safe. Within a few days after being placed into my tank it started eating all of my Zoa's and mushrooms. I never noticed it eating any algae.

Had mine 6 mos. or so. Great cleaner, great eater, but nothing it is not supposed to eat! Loves nori, mysis, bubble algae, any other kind of algae for the most part, and always a good citizen!
