The mods are ok but you cant use them on a timer. Or should I say the pin could fail quicker & shear off making the pump be able to suck & make fish chum.

If it's a closed loop, no need to drill, just go up the side & over the top and plumb from above. See the OM site. With closed loop, no worry about siphons. Just a thought.

Moe you and we know that you really don't think that. Some NICE SPS will be in your future don't down grade just to up grade later.

I think I'm going to have the 2" drain line dump into a bucket bubble trap like a I saw Marco67 post a picture.
I actually unpacked the ASM G4 skimmer last night for the first time.
