J-B Weld - Tank Safe?

bostonian88

Rookie Reefer
I am in the process of bastardizing a MaxiJet to see if I can re-use the Koralia magnet mount because I love the flexibility of the mount. The pumps I'm not so pleased with. Both of my Koralia 3's snapped their front grills.

Is anyone familiar with a product called J-B Weld? It's a two part 'epoxy' that hardens like metal. I have some laying around and was wondering if it would be safe for the fish and inverts.

Thanks in advance!

J-B Weld is non-toxic, but they recommend their J-B Stik or Waterweld products for complete submersion.

Also, J-B Weld doesn't bond to polypropylen plastic or polytethylene plastic - don't know what either the MJ or the Koralia mount are made out of.

The Koralias can be very finicky when being re-assembled.

I had very good luck with Hydo Koralia support. They will more than likely send replacement covers no questions asked.

Thanks

I appreciate the feedback. I'll try to contact them this coming week and see how they respond.

Thanks
