Jebao WP25 question

I was thinking getting 2 Jebao WP25's for my 65 gallon tank. My tank is mostly LPS with a few SPS. Do you think two of them overkill?

Two will be fine, I use two on my in blast mode using the JWave controller box, gives a good turbulent pattern for my Zoas and palys

It's always better to go bigger on power heads and dialing them down. If you go small, you can't dial them up.

I'm putting 2 WP25's in my tank soon, can't wait.

No it is not over kill. You should use one to create wave and another one at "else" mode.
The wave making one will generate VERY little linear flow.

Thanks guys. As for mode, I am going to do what dz6t said. What about placement? On each side of the tank facing each other or the one on wave mode higher than the one on "else" mode?

I will put both power head side by side on the same side of the tank

I got my WP25 package today with the Twins controller.............these things move some crazy water.

Now I need to figure out the placement in my 54 corner.............always an issue getting them positioned for best flow.

They put out some serious flow. Mine are in a 65 gal. I had them set to low and placed like dz6t said about 8" below the water line. It looked good when I set them up. Came home from work the day and had a 10" mountain of sand in the middle of the tank. I had to move them to opposite sides of the tank and they are both running on else.

Else mode is impossible in my tank.............they are just too powerful and everything starts getting blown around.
W3 is the same, too much power.

I'm using W1 right now........at about 50% power.

This why I bought 2 WP10s and the twin controller for my 40 breeder build so I can run on Else mode full blast. I watched reviews on YouTube and read them on here and RC. People who bought a WP25 for a 30 gallon tank were basically screwed. They had to turn it all the way down and couldn't use Else mode. They were stuck on W1 & S3(50%) and that's all they could use. When I was running the tank with water & vinegar to clean it without the sump or return there was plenty of flow out of 2 WP10 plus their compact size is ideal. I'd only move up to WP25s if I had a 75 or WP40s if I had a 100 gallon plus tank. Two WP10s and the return is going to give me me 2250gph flow in the DT. That's 56x turn over on a 40 breeder. I'm only keeping LPS and Zoas so it should be fine.

I have one in my 75g, gives off enough waves, got rid of my other one because it was too strong when both were on.

Yeah, I'm thinking I should have gone with WP10's instead of WP25's.

I'm very limited in modes I can use with these, might try to find a trade online with someone.
