no worries ....im sure it might be ok for a while but if u ever put 200 lbs of live rocks in it and few hundred lbs of sand, atleast u will sleep comfortable knowng that 2 centerbraces reinforce and keep the tank together

I don't completely agree with that, depending on how it was engineered the canopy could act as a brace. If the canopy was stiff and set over the outside of the rim of the aquarium, the canopy would effectively be a brace (not that I am saying this is the case).
Salt is in! Let the cycle begin! Quick question though while your reading this, for lighting i have 3 metal halide and 2 blues...each with its own switch. Ive read to start the day with 3hours the of the blues and 1 halide. Then switch to all three halides for four hours no blues. Then end the day with the one metal halide and the blues for 3 hours and after just moonlights...suggestions? Yes it will be a reef tank.
That's how the tank is setup. The canopy sit with the top 3 inches of the tank locked into a channel reinforced with metal strapping
In that case, the canopy needs to be on the tank all time and you can't remove it even if you need to. When you fill the tank, the glass will bow no matter how thick it is. If you put the canopy on after filling the tank, it does little to brace the tank. If you fill the tank with the canopy already on, the tank will expand and the canopy will stuck until you empty it.
