Jumbo Maroon and small perc hanging out

Triggerfish

recently added my maroon back to tank and the perc (2") seems to like her. would have figured maybe she would have objected to another species hanging within her area.. ?

That is odd. I'd figure it'd kill it right away. Maybe she's REALLY lonely!!

Common Greg, they've entered the new millenium. They'll be maroon percs swimming around in no time. When the other fish see that interracial coupling is ok they'll be all kinds of cool new critters for us to collect. How about a yellow watchman tang? Or a Fijian boxing shrimp?

Seriously, that is odd, I would have expected the maroon to rip the perc apart right away. I'd still keep an eye on them, she might remember her true nature after she's settled in.

Maybe they got some of One Eyes Mojo

That is great. I'm really surprised it worked that way.

Well, if their running on my mojo, a parting of ways should be in the near future!:p

trouble here also

Had to break down my Nano and added a black perc into the 55 with a pair of Maroon percs and it isn't going to well.

I think it was ORA or this other hatchery in FL ... but they were breeding Maroon/perc crosses...they were cute! a brownish orange color large perc.

I did this in an emergency when a nano tank crashed when I was on a business trip. Lost the percs to the skunk clowns. :( They were fine when I put them in the day before, even paired with a mushroom coral on the exact opposite side of the tank. Came down the following day and it looked like they went thru a shredder. Even their sides were torn open.

the maroon may still be thinking it is just lucky to be alive..i had a qt mishap last month where i unplugged heater and tank was around 58 for over 12 hours.

she was in the main tank for over 4 years..so maybe once she settles back in things may change... but she just seems real subdued right now for some reason.
