Errrrr.....

Get to attached to my fish. Yellow tang was the oldest fish in my tank. Im so pissed/sad.

my girlfriend was sweeping the floor around the tank and tells me umm your tangs out of the tank! Had just fed him last night perfectly healthy beautiful fish. Have a canopy on the tank, only the back of the canopy is open for air flow guess I have to close it up some how.
Sucks!!!
sorry had to share my pain with people that have experienced this stuff before.

I know what you mean. I found my bar goby dry on the entryway rug two nights ago. I am going to put a nylon screen over both sides of top.

Oh no! The first thing I thought was, I'm glad I have a canopy. I guess that's a false sense of security. I wonder what happened to make it jump all of a sudden.

I'm sorry to hear you lost a member of your fish family. Hopefully, you can find something else to fill the vacancy.

I share your pain, not only some of my fish ended up on the floor, but also my cat jumped into the tank.

I found a yellow watchman gobby and a cleaner shrimp on the floor. A yellow WATCHMAN gobby...that fish never came out of its cave..WTF.

That's a bummer to find your YT like that. Had that happen with my male clown fish years back.I often wonder of my YT could jump out the back of my canopy.
My canopy is very much like yours and open in the back.

I had some sort of monster crab that I kept in my sump. My girlfriend found the crab in bedroom after she sprayed rug cleaner on it by accident. She said that it scared the crap out of her because it took off after being sprayed. She had to get her father who lives upstairs to come down to get the crab. She was not to happy that it scared the crap out of her. This crab made his way past two cats, two dogs, and made it a good 30 feet to the bedrooms far corner. The darn thing lived after being sprayed with rug cleaner.

I can commiserate, all too often - have an rimless - jumpers in include 2 different wrasses, both had lived in an open top tank for 2+ years, clown (nearly a year), scooter bleany (1+ year), 2 bar gobies (likely bad choice but my wife likes them).

Don't like seeing tank so sparce fish wise, but seeing a jumper just makes for a bad day.

Maybe a good thread would be "These fish can't jump"... I for one would appreciate the suggestions!

Found my old mystery wrasse in my dogs kennel last year. Biggest mystery wrasse I had ever seen in person and of course it's always your favorite fish that jumps

I forgot to mention above, I had a clown that liked to jump out and land in my top off reservoir. I found him twice, the third time it was too late and it was dead.

Everyone I tell says that the fish must have seen finding nemo.

I've had 3 six line wrasses and a clown jump in my years in the hobby. I usually find them several days after their Leeming jump and they're dried to the bone. I hate it when my fish become carpet crackers!

Thanks for all the replys guys means a lot hearing everyone else's experiences.

That was that last fish that I would think I would ever find on the ground. He was a big dude. And my other fishes include 2 wrasses. Figured if anything it would be them.

Well I'm getting some lights soon and I need to install a another fan so the canopy has to come Down soon.
I will also take that time to install some screening in the gap of the canopy.

I know its stupid but the tang was kinda cool with the melanus and now it seems to me as he's looking for his buddy.

Bought a new fish yesterday to replace the Yt a queen purple anthia.
