Today I was changing out my filter sock and then I hear a Crack and splashing noise. My bulk head broke and started leaking water everywhere. Why me lol luckily I have a extra bulk head the only problem is its a thread thread. But I guess the upside of this is now I'm going to hard plumb my drain. Instead of this stiff flex tubing.

A couple cups worth, I had the return pump off. I always turn it off when I change the filter socks just in case this type of thing happens.

You should be able to find a male barb x male thread fitting at Home Depot (in the next isle over from the regular PVC parts, should be near water softeners, water filters and flexible tubing). This would allow you to connect your flexible tubing to a male threaded bulkhead.

Is the bulkhead internally threaded or external? If it's external like mine, I did a female threaded to slip, then a slip to barb to flex hose to the barb of my return, and at the schedule 40 PVC after the bulkhead I put two metal brackets, one mounted to the left inner wall of my stand and one to the rear. I had been knocking my setup around at the bulkhead going into my sump and feared doing what happened to you, and now everything is rock solid so I don't worry as much (but I still have to be cautious of course).

Not sure if any of that would apply/work with your setup, but just wanted to give the suggestion just in the event it may help? =\ Sorry that happened but hey at least the pump was off!

And that dosing pump fiasco is awful wolffman1992 . Real sorry to hear that! I am assuming there's no type of warranty option since it's fried?

Now I have to wait a few hours for it to dry. I hate not having my sump running

Would it be ok to start running it 2.5 hours after gluing it together

For standard pvc cement yes it should be fine after a few hours. So long as it's completely dry to the touch, but I do think the can lists the suggested set time. I've always just left it overnight to be safe but it always seems dry and solid within 15 minutes or so from past experiences.

I usually just run some fresh water through the pipe ang catch it in a bucket below before I use it.
