Welp…. Gotta say I am having some sh** luck with my equipment.
Tunze Osmolator was shipped to me with a crack in the high water sensor. It had been acting odd intermittently with high water codes, and then after I did a water change where the sensor was submerged for 15 minutes, I couldn’t get it to work again.
My two bashsea canisters are leaking from the top. A screw on each canister is stripped creating a lack of pressure on the large o ring. Email response from bashea was less the helpful with an acccusitory, we didn’t send them to you this way tone. I know you didnt send them that way. My issues is more with the design of the product and materials used that would allow this to happen so easily with in a month of operating.
My maxspect gyre xf330 has stopped spinning. And appears stuck. I can spin the blades by hand with little resistance, but when plugged in, the motor kind of grinds a few times never being able to start and then shuts off.
I’m waiting for responses back from tunze and maxspect about warranty replacements. The bashea reactors are likely going to be a self repair. Not looking to pay for them to potentially fix their poorly designed product. I’ll likely get a tap and dye set and some stainless or plastic hardware to make the repair myself.
Do yourself a favor and stay away from those things. The chunky brs jumbo reactors would have been the way to go. Lesson learned.
Any help / suggestions / tips on navigating this would be appreciated!
