By the way, do you still use the Octopus? I have a 3000 that came used with my tank that I am considering setting up. I will need to get software for my computer to run that part(I need windows xp). I am looking for suggestions on where to set up probes and any advice that people can give me on mistakes not to make. My set up has my sump, chiller, heaters, and ballasts in the basement. Any imput on this...
IffersTankSlave said:Brian, standard or lab grade probes? (Which do you recommend), and a good place to purchase said probes. BTW, you do excellent work. Also, do you place the probes in the overflows, or directly in the tank?
Now you're just showing off!Aquaman_68 said:& with this pic I will say......I'm still not where I want to be.....

It was a Wild Solomon Island tort. It was bleached in the bag but I wanted that puppy!!!! It didn't make it...Never opened it's polyps & started to to stn less than a week after I got it. I think all the handling it got at the auction & the temp inside the bag sealed it's doom. Tank temp in the bag when I got home was 70. Oh well....I donated big to the BRS!!! As far as extended probe cables. I've never heard of them & I don't think they exist that long but I could be wrong. You could always make a small bracket to hang them in your overflow box.Ifferfish said:That last pic is awsome. Do you still have the Soly that you got at the meeting in March/April of last year?
And... can I get really long cords for my probes? It is about 15ft from where the Octopus would sit on the wall into my sump through the floor. Possible?

At least, I think it's a cap.
