Kent Phytoplex for a baby Maxima?

stevenp

(not so) Young MC
I picked up a small Maxima today, just under 2-1/2". I've been reading up on keeping these and that it's recommended to feed Phytoplankton daily. I have a bottle of Kent Marine Phytoplex laying around. Is this OK to feed? If so, how much should I add?

<<edit>> I should note that I'm planning on bowl feeding :)

Thanks!

Thanks, Steve. I doubt it's alive since it's spent the last 12 months in a bottle at room temperature :)

What do you recommend? DT's?

Not sure yet, Duds, it's still drip acclimating but it looked good at the LFS. The openings looked nice and tight, and colors were good.

BTW, it's my first clam :)

did it react to movements near by? or when the light was blocked? (a little test to make sure the clam is nice and healthy) if you feel safer bowl feeding it then do that, but when i got mine i didnt think it was necessary it was close enough to 3 inches and it seemed to be really healthy and opened up nicely

Mine is looking great too. Ours were more on the 3" side, I would recommend feeding it if it is 2.5" at least for a little while.

I heard it's pretty cool to watch the green water magically turn clear during bowl feeding.

BTW, Steve, are you stealth posting somehow? Doesn't show that you're online but your posts keep popping up? :)
