anyone know why this keeps happening to me?
The shaft magnet keeps splitting open this is the second one i am replacing. Havent searched to see if this is a common proble yet. Just wondering if anyone else is having this happen.

Are you using a wave maker or timers? Before I bought my Sicce powerstreams I was reading a lot of issues with the Koralias related to the constant stop/starting. From what I read the Evolutions were supposed to resolve the issue and be safe on controllers but a bunch of people were still reporting issues.

X2 on the wave maker. Read a few things online with people still having issues because of the constant stop n starting.

Nope no wave maker here. One of them started making noise so i took it apart to clean it and noticed this one had split too.

Have you contacted koralia? They were great with me about replacing my impellers, no ?'s asked.

Wow, huge hats off to Koralia's tech support, they sent me an email and called me. They asked what I used to clean my Evo's and I told them vinegar. They told me that vinegar wears down the plastic coating on the magnets and also that it can alter the magnetic properties of the magnet. They recomended that I use this stuff called Magi Klean. Best of all they are sending me two new impellers and a free sample of this Magi Klean stuff. Already ordered replacements tho, oh well I guess it cant hurt to have replacements.

MajicKlean is a product that Hydor markets themselves.

I had three Koralia evos 1050 hooked up to a wave maker. Two of them broke because of the constant start/stop. The props on the powerheads broke the fan screen which had this knob type thing that is designed to disperse the flow of water. Tried silicone to fix it but it kept breaking. Bought two new koralia's and now don't use the wave maker. They have been running just fine since. In hindsight, wished I had contacted Hydor about replacing them.

Update on mine-- they sent me a new housing for one and two new impellers--no questions asked.

Same here should of updated. I sent them an email and a few days lat. er they sent me new impellers
